| So I never blog...but I feel that instead of studying for finals I should write something other than a paper for class. So I said to my door man "nice Christmas decorations they put up in the lobby!" And he said "No, not Christmas decorations, Holiday decorations. We don't want to offend anyone"
When are they going to have to start calling menorahs "Holiday candle holders" and the dradle "four sided cold weather season top?"
Seriously people. Merry Christmas. Happy Chanukah. Why don't they just call it "Good ol' American capitalism buying stuff season?" I like that better than Happy Holidays. PS What if you don't want to be thankful on Thanksgiving? Should we start calling it "Happy Fall eating day Holiday?"
| In the last month I have... moved into a loft downtown chicago, started school at Loyola University, gotten a bid for a frat. and accepted (Delta Sigma Pi), gotten used to riding the train and hating the red line's many problems, cooked lotsa good dinners, Life is good. | | |
| Life update... because that's the only thing I use this for anyway. :)
Today was my last day working at starbucks for the summer. I might be working while living downtown and going to school...but I'll figure that out once school has started and I have gotten everything figured out.
Speaking of school, there have been some MAJOR changes. While my previous posts have said that I was going to DePaul University, I am now going to Loyola University. For those who don't live around chicago, these schools are very close. I already had a place in Lincoln park, right by DePaul, so I'm going to still live there. Lincoln Park is way cooler than where Loyola is, so I"m fine with that. Long story short, I would of had to be at DePaul longer than Loyola and not be able to do the honors program. So I switched. I register for class tuesday and start on the 29th. Wow.
Anyway, my life has changed quite a bit! A lot of you already knew about these changes...but for those of you who I have not talked to in ages, I'm sorry :)
I'm going to miss working at the downtown naperville starbucks :(

| My blogs are going to be about starbucks for the next few weeks...
so deal with it
So, as you know, I'm working at starbucks now. It is awesome having a job in general, but even cooler to be working somewhere that I want to learn the things I'm learning in training.
DID YOU KNOW... That when tasting coffee there are two specific things you must pay attention to? The body and the acidity. Though I thought I didn't like coffee, I'm finding out that I do like certain coffees that have med acidity and med body. Interesting...
I have now worked every shift and learned the ropes of every position from register to Batista to frappuccino artist. I'm ready to make coffee and be proud of it!
Ok... I'm going to click submit before I sound like the Starbucks 'how to provide great customer service manual'
